Cinnamon is the proud Proprietress and Designer of Allegra Noir. She finds it entertaining to talk about herself in the 3rd person.
Born and bred in New York City, Cinnamon learned to crochet and knit in her early teens. She attended Parsons where she studied graphic design and worked at a variety of New York City nightclubs as a Performer and Creative Consultant. She made all of her costumes by hand. Cinnamon's specific love of accessories began during her time as Assistant Accessories & Lingerie Buyer at the legendary Patricia Field shop. It was an incredibly inspiring environment and a wonderful learning experience.
During the winter of 2005, a few friends asked her to make hats for them. Word spread and soon she was up to her elbows in yarn and she loved every moment of it. It was during this time that Allegra Noir took shape.
The Allegra Noir aesthetic rides a clean edge with hints of stylized whimsy. Cinnamon celebrates character and function by creating handcrafted, quality items to combat the mass-produced and the ordinary.
All the work featured on Allegra Noir is made upon order just for you with the finest fibers. These are the quality, unique, handcrafted luxuries you deserve.
Only the finest yarns are used for the Allegra Noir collection, 95% of which are high quality animal fibers obtained from exclusive spinners, artisians and vendors around the world. The rest are exceptional man-made fibers. All of the yarns are soft if not ultra soft and have passed the comfort test with flying colors.
The majority of the yarns used are handpainted or hand-dyed which ensures that each item is unique in itself with gentle variants.
You will find a full description of the yarns used in the catalog as well details on caring and feeding.
